Life is like a box of crayons. At birth, you're given a great big box of them to share and add color to your life. Some colors get used more than others. Sometimes, a crayon gets broken. A Bright color gets snapped in half and tossed in the garbage can, never to be returned. Sometimes you keep coloring. Sometimes you can't. That color was important. Sometimes a crayon is gained, shared between two people. That color might be just perfect, and works great! Other times it's a different shade, but it will make do. But, there is always one color left in the box. Black. It's normally unused until death. It's used to frame the picture. To add the final border to the coloring board of life. Some people use it. They color onto other's pictures with it. Sometimes their own. They use it to scribble out portions of the picture. Sometimes the portion isn't that important. Sometimes it is. Sometimes there are multiple blacks in the box when you open it for the day.. Sometimes there's only one, or it isn't even there. It all depends, really. All depends on the crayon box. |

Bon Bons
"Life is like a box of chocolates"
its a really great metaphor
or simile...
either way
they had the right idea
Everyone loves a box of fancy chocolates, but sometimes we luck out and get handed a box of unmarked bon bons.
At times like these
the best thing we can do
it take a bite out of each candy and see what flavor it is.
There is no mistaking the joy when you bite into the one with strawberry fluff inside.
It tastes great
and you feel like your on top of the world
however,
for every strawberry,
there is always a coconut or two
waiting in the wings.
you take a bite
only to spit it out
but by then,
it is too late
and the taste is already in your mouth
the damage is done.
then every once and a while
you bite into one that you are allergic to
your skin starts to itch
and your airway starts restricting
if its really bad
you may wind up in the hospital
all from and seemingly harmless piece of chocolate
what a surprize...
But like all good things
chocolate has to come to an end
what more can you say?
It was fun while it lasted...

who i am
i have been thinking a lot lately. about many things. but also trying to find out who the hell i am. and this is the nice stuff about myself i came up with I'm six pairs of the same cut, color, and style jeans, Two weeks of long, lazy vacation And short five minute showers. I'm "I don't care what you wear" Now and then I'm moody. I'm a Toyota with the music too loud With my brown hair streaming out the window I'm a soft place to land And a good feeling knowing I'm a warm conversation That no one would miss for anything I'm a fiercesome fighter when I'm mad, A great listener ne'er just waiting to speak. I'm the girl who goes spinning through the rain And will leave muddy footprints in your kitchen. I'm a geniune smile, laugh, hug, compliment, shoulder Whenever, whereever you need them. I am a good book, a comfortable chair, and a soft light I'm a "Let's never grow old." "Of course you can do that. Let's figure out how." "I'll love you no matter what you do, how far you travel, How hard you push me away." I'm shouldering too much reponsibility, Singing along to the music completely off-key. Stories I read aloud with too much enthusiasm And a very horrible English accent. I don't always do things the way I should And I'm full of lessons learned from mistakes made before. Deep down, I'm the quiet one in the back of the room Happily buried in books, art, and music. I'm long drives to good music. I'm the paint on my black shoes. I am homemade, handmade pasta, remembering you don't like nuts. I'm a half-drowned cell phone, a dozen text messages, and a hand to hold. I'm not the doctor, I'm not your other half, I believe 1+1=2. I'm your life-long lesson, the one you'll never forget. I'm my architectural photographs, my simple poetry, my planned prose. I am dark eyes, dark hair, and a mind. |

to you:
if I could do anything,
I'd bring you a rainbow, so that you would see colors, when the rest of the world is gray.
I would take your troubles away, and toss them into the sea, drowning your fears,
I would cry your every tear, so that you would feel joy and peace, and I would protect you, so that you would never fight alone.
If I could be anything, I'd be to you what you are to me. I would be your beacon shining brightly if ever you lost your way.
I would be your solace and be your strength. If ever you tire from flight, I will carry you while you rest your wings.
If I could say anything, I would say, "I'll always be by your side."
If I could say anything, I would say, "I'll always be by your side."
and i want you to know
that i will always be here for you
no matter how much you want me to go away.
i know how it feels.
i know
i'm going through the pain too.
so just breathe.
remember.
i'm
here
